Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah. - Jer 31:31
The New Testament is called B'rit HaChadashah in Hebrew, meaning "the New Covenant" (the word B'rit means "covenant" and Chadashah means "new"). Just like the Torah and Haftarah blessings, Messianic Jewish believers thank the LORD God of Israel for the gift of the New Covenant Scriptures before and after reading from them.
Blessing Before Reading the Brit Chadashah
A blessing you can recite before reading from the New Covenant Scriptures is:
Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the universe, Who gave to us the Messiah Jesus and the commandments of the New Covenant. Blessed art You, LORD, Giver of the New Covenant.
